Patients

Your Experience Matters

BCOR believes your voice and bowel cancer experience truly matters. We are interested in gathering information from as many patients as possible about their quality of life before and after treatment.

BCOR is focused on improving the quality of life for patients by reducing the negative effects of treatment and increasing general physical health and mental wellbeing. Your involvement will help doctors and researchers better understand the impact of different types of bowel cancer treatments and identify improvements to clinical care. With what we learn, we’re hoping more patients will be able to get back to doing the things they love, with the people they care about most.

By participating in BCOR, you’ll be contributing to a greater effort to improve the quality of life for all patients receiving treatment for bowel cancer.

Your involvement will help doctors and researchers better understand the impact of different types of bowel cancer treatments and identify improvements to clinical care.

What does Participation Involve?

BCOR accepts all patients with bowel cancer, who are over 18 and receiving treatment from a participating doctor or hospital.

If you have been newly diagnosed with bowel cancer and your hospital or treating doctor has signed up to the registry, your information will be sent to your local coordinator for data entry.

Participation is entirely voluntary and you can choose to opt out of BCOR at any time, without incurring any out-of pocket expenses, or affecting the level of treatment or care you are provided with. To opt out of BCOR, please email contact@bowelcanceraudit.com

If you happy to allow your data to be included in BCOR, you are not required to do anything. Should you decide to take part but later change your mind, you are free to withdraw at any time.

Is my Doctor or Hospital Participating?

To help you quickly see if your doctor or hospital is involved, look out for their participation certificate displayed in their waiting room or consulting suite. This proudly acknowledges their commitment to quality treatment and outcomes in bowel cancer.

The stamp is also used to show your health team’s proud commitment to improving the lives of patients with bowel cancer, including your treatment and outcomes. Look out for the BCOR logo or participation certificate in your doctor’s consulting suite, website or any social media channels.
